A Knight's Duty

The princess couldn't believe the situation she had gotten herself into. Being close to Henry made her want to be more daring if this was the reward. Her safe life in the castle paled in comparison to the way she felt being held by one of the strongest knights in the country.

The wind occasionally whipped at her face if she turned her head to look at the passing scenery but most of the time she kept her face huddled against Henry's chest and neck.

Occasionally she gasped at the feeling of the horse underneath them dodging around obstacles and passing effortlessly over the uneven footing. She was lucky Henry's arm was around her or she certainly would have fallen off.

His fresh, masculine scent was intoxicating and she wrapped one of her arms around his waist under the guise that she was cold.

If she had made it this far already, she was going to do what she wanted and enjoy herself as much as possible. She didn't know when there would be another time.
