Burning that amount of bodies would take a long time so the knights decided that they would camp in a nearby grotto. They dropped their things off before returning to the battlefield to stack bodies.
The mercenaries who had helped them take down the small army of monsters didn't know why they cared so much about cleaning up a mess like that. It certainly wasn't amongst the careless traits mercenaries tended to possess.
"He's had a bad experience with a necromancer," Callum gestured to Henry and explained to the men. "He insists on cleaning up a mess once we've made one."
Henry case a sideways glance at the commander who returned the glance with a smirk.
"Mind if we pick apart these monsters a bit before you burn them up?" one of the mercenaries asked. "There's got to be something valuable in at least a few of them."
