Everything Within His Control

King Alfred sat at his study's finely carved wooden desk, having just dismissed the Crown Prince from their meeting.

Usually, there wasn't a lot to be said between him and his heir.

The king showed no signs of slowing down and everything in the kingdom was well managed by the nobles littered across the country. It would be an easy transition when his son took over and, unless he decided to change a lot, Prince Alfred could take the reigns of Hydrogia with little effort, and maintain a comfortable life the way his father had for many decades.

It was late summer and the weather was hot. There were many invitations to garden parties and other various social events he had to sift through.
