Stand Down

Wind whipped through his hair, making Henry feel like he could fall off the dragon's back at any moment. Despite the season being summer, from this high in the sky, it felt cold.

Henry wrapped his arms around Sylaron's neck as she took him to their next destination. He tried to occasionally open his eyes to make sure they were headed in the right direction, but each time he did he felt like he was going to be sick.

For such a long time, all he could do was try to control his pounding heart and take deep breaths or he was going to forget how to breathe. He knew he was safe with such an overprotective dragon within his reach, but it was unnatural for a human to be this high in the sky without facing impending doom.

He wondered if that was a feeling he could ever get used to. However, he doubted it considering the way his arms and legs practically went numb. It was like his body was panicking, not equipped to handle the situation he had gotten himself in.
