Henry didn't sleep the rest of the night, but when Irene eventually woke up as the sun rose, she was in a good mood and they had easy conversation.
However, there was a bit of something lingering between them as they thought about all they had confided in one another before Irene went to sleep. The two of them could no longer be indifferent towards each other. The walls that had been built had crumbled down. With the deeper understanding came a growing respect.
Henry found himself wanting to protect her and do everything for her but he had to hold back, knowing she wouldn't like that overbearing side of himself. She was so much different than any other woman he had ever experienced.
They ate a quick breakfast and cleaned up the camp.
