Breaking Through Her Boundaries

Henry's words reminded Irene of what she had been having trouble with before. A couple of sentences shouldn't have affected her in such a way but she couldn't control the way her heart went wild on its own.

She put her free hand over her chest and blinked at Henry, unsure of how she wanted to respond. Yet words fell from her lips before she could control them.

"That scares me so much," Irene practically whispered, burdened by his confession.

The hand that Henry was already holding, he pressed against his chest.

Her pale palm was against the thick material of his tunic, but her fingers stretched further up and met the warm skin of his chest. She could feel his heart racing the same as hers. She would never believe that she could make Henry nervous. She didn't know why he trusted her so much.
