26: Like the back of his hand

It's hard to admit when one has fallen for someone they can't be with. It's even harder when the person is someone who they've hurt unforgivably.

Adnan didn't know what to do. He was caught in a dilemma. He had slain the most important person in Arendar. The man the king loved with all of his heart and there was no taking that back.

There was no excuse he could make. No explanation that would justify the action he took. He didn't need to kill Soren. Nothing made sense to him.

One moment he was lying in his room peacefully daydreaming about the king in chains. And the next he was standing over Soren's dead body. It's like he blinked and the next thing he knew his hands were stained with Soren's blood.
