55: Where Soren ends and I begin

"I feel your absence in everything I do alone. In every place I go without you," Javier whispered.

He gazed at the view of his palace from the highest peak. Adnan stood five paces away from him unable to ignore how much it hurt to see the king wallow in loneliness without his dragonling.

"What would he say to me if you were here?" Javier turned back. Adnan shot his dumbfounded gaze. He was not one to speak in Soren's place. He didn't consider himself that important to fit in the man's shoes.

"I wouldn't know, I didn't know him well," he confessed the truth.

Javier smiled.

There were many things Soren would say to him. First, he would complain about him asking the opinion of his slave. Then he would cling to him and act cute. The thought of which caused Javier to smile.

"I love you, every part of you. Even the parts you don't like," Adnan mumbled under his breath.
