Zephirah's Insinuations

As the last of the birds flew past, their wings casting fleeting shadows on the ground below, Alicia couldn't help but linger a little longer, her eyes tracing their graceful arcs against the sky. With a contented sigh, she finally tore her gaze away from the mesmerizing sight and turned to face Nicolas, her expression calm and serene.

But as she met his gaze, she couldn't help but notice the intensity of his stare, the way his eyes seemed to hold a depth of emotion that sent a shiver down her spine. It was a look she couldn't quite decipher—a mixture of warmth and longing, tenderness and something else she couldn't quite name.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she questioned, her voice tinged with confusion as she tried to make sense of the emotions swirling within her.

"Like what?" Nicolas responded softly, his voice barely above a whisper as he continued to hold her gaze, his eyes searching hers with a depth that left her breathless.
