Bloody Dawn

"Good morning, Lise."

Alicia had barely stepped out of the ensuite when Delbert's voice reached her ears.

"Good morning, Delbert." She dipped her head in greeting, her gaze subtly flickering around the room, searching—though she wasn't sure if she was hoping to find him or avoid him entirely.

She didn't have to wonder for long.

"Delbert, I'll be leaving for the courtroom in a few minutes."

Alicia sucked in a sharp breath, her entire body going rigid. She hadn't expected to hear his voice again so soon.

"Ms. Anderson can remain with you," Adrien continued smoothly. "Court matters cannot be involved."

"Yes, Your Highness!" Delbert bowed his head in deference.
