When Evelyn woke up, she realized that she was in a very familiar room.
She stiffened when she moved a little and felt an arm draped around her waist. Turning a little, when she saw the mask-clad face, her eyes were full of relief and her body relaxed.
She, in fact, moved more towards Regan's warmth and put her arms around his waist.
"Awake?"
She heard his voice and hummed slightly in response.
She could feel a soft kiss on her hair as she laid her head on his chest.
Neither of them spoke after that.
In the silence, Evelyn couldn't help but remember what happened before she went unconscious. Just then, she heard Regan say
"Evelyn…you didn't do anything wrong."
Evelyn blinked the tears that were threatening to form in her eyes. She understood what he was saying.
"I know."
She said firmly.
"I just remembered Oliver's death seeing all that."
It was now Regan's turn to stiffen this time but he didn't say anything after that. There was another round of long silence.
