"yoo, Nick, what's up, you left kind of in a hurry, chania was actually hurt." Elly said to Nick."nothing, did you say Chania was hurt?" Nick asked in a worried tone. " atleast I see you still care, what was that all about by the way?" Elly replied with a question. " I don't know, I just didn't feel like talking to her."

"That's new of you." Elly stated ."Can we just leave that topic, you know I have to practice for the music competitions. " Nick frustratedly replied. "jeez, no need for the pressure, I was just worried, did you learn how to play guitar by the way" Elly asked.

"Not yet, there's is some guy they told me about, I think I'll meet him in the evening but when I learn guitar, I will kill some people with regret." Nick replied. " Are you doing it for talent, or just to hurt someone?, " Elly asked as he was being called by one of the teachers.

But the question kept in Nick's head

Has it actually come to this, am I doing this just to prove a point or because I just want to also push my talent.

**two weeks later**

Things kept like that between Nick and Chania ,they would only talk once in a while but formal. Although Nick seemed not to miss anything, on the other hand, Chania was worried, not because like she loved Nick back, but because he was one of the guys she cared about and 'cause Nick always put her as number one priority, but just like that, Nick was among those guys, he was not the guy. Surely Chania was always with Drake but it was different, Drake was like that to most girls, so it was evident that he did not hold romantic feelings for Chania. Although his company was enjoyed by Chania, it reached a point when they were just too close.

Their closeness kept wiping out even the smallest chance of Nick fixing his relationship with her.

*a week ago*

"Hi" I said to Nick. "hey" he replied before he continued making himself busy with books. "How are you" I greeted. "Am good " he replied before he faced down again."Am also okay, not like you care." I said and I managed to get to get some of his attention. "Why do you say that I don't care?" he asked me. "Because you can't even bother to look at me even when we are speaking, even us speaking is now rare, I thought you're my friend? " I replied.

"I can see now your English is really nice now." he said. "thanks for the compliment " I replied. "Okay, what do you want that we talk about?" He asked as he shifted his attention to me. This was nice. "Aah..,(I even lacked words immediately ),why is it that nowadays you don't want to speak to me?" I asked. "it's not that I don't want to speak to you, it's just that am really busy nowadays. " He replied.

"Busy?, I don't remember you being really busy, and I remember even before, you'd never lack time for me." I asked. " Yah , I have been busy, but even when I am to get time for you, would you also have time for me?" he replied with a question as he smiled. But this question hit me, he was making a point, I never did give him enough time, I always got an excuse to go away from him.

"Hey, Chania " Drake called as he was on the other side if the room. "Wait a bit, am still a little bit occupied. " I replied. " It's really important, come and first check, you'll see." Drake insisted. "Fine then, let me come." I replied. " umh, you tell me." Nick said. " Let me first check this out." I replied to him.

"What do you want Drake?" I said to him. "Nothing special, these guys were saying I can't kiss you if I wanted?" he said. " you're stupid " I said as I was waiting for his reply. "no, just tell them, they were arguing. " he said. "ok, he can do it, is it that what you wanted?" I replied. "atleast show us" they all said. Before I knew it, Drake came to me as if he was going to whisper something to me, but instead he continued down and kissed me, it was for just an instant but I was frozen in place. what has just happened? I asked myself. " you can now go if you want. " he said

I was brought back to reality. I was speaking with Nick, before Drake called and all was going well. On checking at Nick's table , he was long gone. Luckily, Kelly and Martha were at Kelly's table as they watched everything. I went towards them and they too looked suprised. "hey girls" I said. " wow, Chan, we were really surprised, I thought you too were close but not that close " they all said to me. " I never knew you're my brother 's new girlfriend " Kelly said.

"I too didn't expect it, but he did it just to prove a point, I think. " I said. "yah, we figured, too bad he was not proving it to his guys but to someone else." Martha said. "what!" I replied, "why do say that? I asked. "Well, Drake had told me that he wanted to prove a point to Nick about you, but because I think you and Nick were not speaking, he never got the chance, but when you were starting to fix your things, I think he saw the opportunity. " Kelly said."where's Nick" I asked. " The moment you left, Nick went back to his books, but you causing commotion where you were and he decided to watch the show although obviously, he was not enjoying it." Martha said. "Continue " I said.

"Then when Drake kissed you, I didn't see his exact response 'cause I was suprised too, but when I saw in his direction, he was moving out, and he had a face full of betrayal. I would too if you asked me, what you did was messed up." Martha continued.

The school main block has five floors and Nick's class is on the top floor. "Chania" Jack called. "what's up" she replied. "Nothing really, have you seen Kelly? " he asked. "Nope" she replied. "okay, you better watch those metal guards on the balcony, they are weak nowadays. " he said. "don't worry, I will keep that in mind." she replied. "Aaaa....." Chania said as she had accidentally leaned on the metal guards and she was on the verge of falling down from the top most floor. Jack tried to catch her but he was not fast enough. Nick was startled on the sudden commotion before he saw what was actually happening, Chania was falling from the building.

Without even thinking twice , Nick only yelled one thing " Chania....." as he also jumped to get her, he got to her fast but both were in mid air but just as they were going to hit the ground, time froze for a split second before Nick's hair grew a bit and he was surrounded and his eyes were glowing, Chania was mesmerized with the scene before her, they were falling but the face near her was really handsome, Nick pulled her into his embrace.For just that time, lightning was striking hard in the sky and even Nick's physical appearance changed a bit, before a strong wind gashed and they landed safely on the ground.
