original trio

Alice, Tristan and Cherie were allowed inside after Brick stepped inside then he sat down opposite them. "How has your progress been for you three?"

He was thinking to himself. 'So this is the original group huh? Two adults, myself and a child. Good thing that I got help from Tanya towards adding some more people.'

Cherie looked a little excited and was about to speak up but was interrupted by Alice who spoke first. "Nothing to really speak of but we did encounter a problem while you were away. Fortunately it had been resolved quickly and the troublesome group had been kicked out."

Brick immediately knew who she was talking about so he replied. "That is good. Any other developments?"

Alice turned towards Cherie pushing her to speak and encouraging her. "Go on."

Cherie's eyes sparkled as she proudly stated. "I have a superpower!"

Brick's gaze turned gentle and expressed his satisfaction upon heading such news. "Oh that is cool. Can you show me?"

Cherie nodded up and down repeatedly before placing the teddy in her arms onto the table in front of herself then pointed her hand towards it. "Fall!"

A strange feeling arose around her body gathering at her palm before it shot out towards the direction of the bear causing it to be knocked off the table.

Brick watched it happen and his eyes widened in shock. 'What..'

He knew that many given the chance to unlock a power could be given something good that could be very helpful but most usually received the most common of powers within the physical or elemental category.

Spiritual types like himself were usually less common that possessed abilities similar to psychic or telekinetic powers.

If Brick sensed the fluctuation of energy right then it was of a similar property to himself.

There were two types of invisible powers that exhibited the ability to push away objects in the way that had been shown.

One was the wind power which provided a wide range of attacking methods depending on the person who used it but it was definitely one that was quite powerful in the later stages of power especially for the fast and difficult to detect attacks.

The other power type Brick was aware of was one that was just as rare as his own called psychic push or force push.

It was the type of ability that directed a form of energy from the body which allowed for a target or targets to be pushed back.

Another ability existed which was the opposite which created an attracting force rather than a repelling force but not many people would be happy to have such a power unless they were able to make proper use of such a power.

If attracting was the sole power to be used up against another power used or zombie then not many would want to bring the threat to their safety even closer.

It was one of the reasons why Brick was feeling excited towards discovering that Cherie's power was to repel.

He started to see all kinds of future possibilities within Cherie which meant that she would have to be kept at his side no matter what happened in the future.

The power displayed by Cherie was practically useless in her present state just like how many others had a limit to what they could achieve with their powers but it had excellent potential.

He turned to the other two and asked. "How about you two?"

Alice shook her head and so did Tristan, Tristan hesitated before answering. "I do not feel any different. Perhaps I am just not talented enough?"

Alice looked a little nervous as she added. "I know you explained a little but can you explain a little on how it could appear?"

Brick nodded and went on to say. "For now I want to discuss something important. I brought back Tanya safely this time which gained me a car which will be useful towards future plans.

As of now.. the world has changed greatly and everyone needs to find their own way to survive. You all can remain as loyal followers of your superiors and take handouts from them or you can choose to stick with me.

I plan on leaving this place very soon to begin gathering what will be needed to support surviving without the handouts from others. I intend to build my own independent force that has several goals.

The first would be to grow stronger, the second to kill zombies, the third to gather resources, the fourth to gather talents and forth is to secure possible allies outside. I hope that you can aid me in this.

I plan on bringing in others too but you three are my first choices. If you plan on remaining as a part of the families security then I will not blame you but it is doubtful that they will be willing to provide much to every person especially those they deem worthless."

His meaning was that anyone considered as not being able to contribute in any way would be the very first to be abandoned or pushed aside.

The strong and able would be the ones to be prioritised over the weak and unskilled.

There could be some talents among the survivors in many different areas that could aid in many areas that would be highly needed but most leaders would choose to prioritise strength and more practical skills over others.

A child like Cherie would be one such victim of such a system and the only way to solve that would be for her to survive through others giving a small portion of their own supplies.

Since Brick had already made the decision to become the guardian of Cherie, he would be the one to solve that problem but it would not solve the same situation for many others in a similar situation.

Alice hesitated before answering. "I will think about it Brick but do you really plan on taking Cherie out with you?"

Brick looked a little depressed as he stated. "She has to learn how to survive and use her powers as soon as possible. If I delay any longer then it will only be that much more difficult when she is confronted with danger."

He hated the idea of exposing a young child to the various dangers and horrible situations that would take place but if he protected her from it and kept her ignorant then it would only make her more vulnerable to such things in the future.

If he decided to take guardianship of Cherie then she would be his to protect and raise but she would also possibly become one of his weaknesses too.

If she could become one of his greatest strengths rather than a weakness to be used against him then he would not need to worry about whatever threats were ahead of him.

Tristan spoke up too and said. "Hm.. if you need a driver then I can do that much."

Brick talked to them for some time explaining some other things before they headed towards the wall.
