A loud gasp echoed around the library after what Xelcio said.
"What are you saying, papa? Deon likes another girl?" Lucinda set her widened eyes on her father.
"Not now, Lucy. We have more important things on our hands." Xelcio dismissed her queries, but she flared in response.
"Not now? More important things? Are you saying that my happiness no longer matters to you? How I feel is not important, is that right?" Her voice broke toward the end.
Xelcio let out a tired sigh. "Lucinda, please. Let's handle this first, then you can have him all to yourself."
Gideon lifted a brow at the man. He couldn't believe he was the one they were discussing, right in his presence like he was some toy or something.
"No! Since my happiness no longer matters to you, then I'll take matters into my own hands. Give me this girl's identity. What does she look like? Where does she live?"
