With widened eyes and lifted brows, Gideon turned around to face Salma once more, his face having a big question written on it.
He hadn't spoken a word yet, but the look on his face was one Salma understood, and she answered the unspoken question even before he could utter it.
"I'm tired of hearing her voice. It's giving me a headache."
This time, Gideon could not smile. It didn't matter to him what happened to Lucinda. She could disappear for all he cares.
What and who he was concerned about was Salma. The look on her face was one he couldn't read. And so he moved his feet until he was standing in front of her.
"What you saw..." He started speaking but didn't complete his words when she started nodding her head.
"I know," Salma uttered, surprising him.
"You know?" Gideon questioned, not sure what she was talking about. "Know what?"
