When she was done crying silently for the second time after Salma left, for no particular reason, Celeste fell asleep on the couch.
Hours later, she woke up to realize the sun had gone down, and Veron was yet to wake up. Knitting her brows, she pushed herself up and walked to the edge of the bed.
Why was he still out? Aren't werewolves or vampires, whichever one he was more of, supposed to heal fast? Why was he bent on keeping her worried?
"Wake up, troublemaker." She poked his cheek three times with her index, and let out an annoyed sigh when he didn't respond. His face only moved slightly, but that was all. No other movement was detected by her.
"Salma," Celeste uttered, then started walking toward the door without a second hesitation. Salma said she should remain in the room, but how could she? It's been hours yet she was not back. Was she still sleeping? Was she alright?
