Chapter 32: Secret Army

I took a step forward and Markus Ahren staggered backward amidst the shocked expression of everyone in the room. I had taken a gamble and knew that Markus Ahren could smell the scent of Anthora in my blood. I wanted him to know that shifter blood had not killed me. Borderline mental was Alpha Lycus's plan. This way everyone would be afraid and a diversion would have been created.

“Not possible,” he kept muttering. “How are you still alive?”

I laughed maniacally. “I am not easy to kill. I will not drop down dead anytime soon,” I seethed as I turned to look at Leonardo.

A coven council member walked over to Leonardo and whispered something in his ear. Leonardo nodded and then the coven council member spoke up. “The coven is aware of the fact that someone tried to poison our king with shifter blood.”

“Since when do we discuss matters of the coven in public?” Tristan was quick to ask the elder.
