Chapter 39: Attack

Fully fed from a night of rendezvous with my mate, the need to let out steam was on the rise. I rushed to the training grounds after my mate left and pushed my body to the limits, testing for new powers. I felt the Anthora tattoo burn as it healed my body every time I felt a crack. Testing the extent of my powers, testing for speed and strength.

Looking at the pavilion, Tristan sat with the guards, their eyes glued to me. My vision enhanced and I could tell their different auras and energies. That was new. Everyone emitted a different scent and I saw Tristan’s eyes widen. I smirked at him and he shook his head to scold me. The guards gasped as they felt my powers surrounding them.

My senses were on alert when I noticed we had company at the end of the empty field stretching into the horizon, the earth breaking the previously seamless line. I moved with speed to the center of the pavilion surprising both Tristan and the guard.

“We are not alone,” I stated.
