Chapter 7: A Snowy Ride

GUILDSWORTH

POV DESMOND

I put the last till in the safe and shut it for the last time that evening. I had sent Janice and Cynthia home early since it had been such a slow day. I grabbed my things from the back and shut off the lights. I walked out of the front door and did a different series of knocks to lock the front doors. A red light surrounded the door to confirm it had been locked.

I fixed my scarf over my face to keep the constant snow flurries away and walked down the alley to my car. I had to keep my head down to keep the snow out of my face. I didn't notice he was leaning up against my car until I was a few feet away. Nathaniel stood there, looking almost angelic with the snow covering him.
