A Grand Deceit

"Why do you have to take her back today? I have hardly been able to talk to her, let alone get to know her. She can stay here a few moe weeks, can't she?"

"No. Let me remind you that I was against this hastily put-together plan from the very beginning. I told you to give her time. But you are insisting on pushing her against a wall!"

"Time! I gave you four years! You were supposed to bring her back on her sixteenth birthday."

"And how do you think she would have reacted if I had gone to bring her here when she had just lost her mother? Even now, she is unwilling to talk to you, what would have happened then?"

"I could have explained th truth to her!" King Delroy claimed.

"If you were so assured, the least you could have done was gone to the funeral or sent someone with a sympathy card. You did not even do that, how did you plan to explain this truth?"
