LEVIATHAN

A woman among the crowd of dancers pulled me from my seat after taking permission from the king. She pulled me to the dance floor and I was then surrounded by some other women. They clapped, singing in their dialects as they circled me.

Each woman had a beautiful smile on her face and I could tell their call was for me to dance with them. I hesitated a bit, staring back at the king whose dark eyes were already on me. He watched me calmly like before, and even if I had catch him staring, he didn't shift his gaze.

I could feel my heart racing in beautiful rhythm as I watched him. It wasn't me, I was sure it wasn't me but I could feel my hips moving. I felt the need to impress him. I raised my hands and tossed my head to the side feeling the beat of the native instrument.

For the first time since I got here, my mind was at peace. I had neglected all of my distress. I was happy, feeling like I belonged already.

The women danced and clapped around me cheering me to go on.
