Clyde exhaled slowly with steady breath as he prepared himself. He had spent seven days modifying the amulet and now, when the next day came, it was time to put it to the test.
Before anything else, he decided to refresh himself.
He took a short bath, letting the warm water wash away the exhaustion clinging to him. Afterward, he dressed in his usual attire, something practical yet durable, ready for whatever awaited him on the other side of the portal.
Once dressed, he made his way to the dining hall, where the mansion's servants had already prepared breakfast for him. He ate quickly, not paying much attention to the taste. His mind was elsewhere, locked onto the task ahead.
Before returning to his room, he spoke to one of the servants.
"I won't be disturbed for a while," Clyde said.
The servant nodded, bowing slightly. "Understood, my lord."
