Clyde could only stand frozen in place, stunned by what he had just heard from the monster. It was just a random creature in a random ruin—one he had chosen because this place was where the anomaly had appeared for the second time. He thought he might find something here.
Turns out, his instincts were right—he did find something. A name… or something similar to that. Was it truly a name, or was it the designation of some mysterious being? Clyde couldn't be sure.
He took a deep breath, inhaling the dry air of the ruined desert, then exhaled slowly.
"Calm down," he told himself. "First, I need to pull myself together. For some reason, just hearing that name makes my head feel heavy. That alone convinces me it's no ordinary name."
Even now, Clyde wasn't sure if he could bring himself to utter that name again—not even in his mind. But he knew he wouldn't be able to forget it.
