Unexpected Meeting

"Oh, hello," Clyde said casually, a small smile playing on his lips.

He hadn't expected Uriel to show up now. From the fiery wings ablaze behind her, the hard-set expression on her face, and the fury burning in her eyes, Clyde knew one thing for sure—Archangel Uriel was very, very pissed.

But anger wasn't the only thing she felt. Despair, guilt, and sorrow weighed heavily on her. And now, seeing Clyde casually stepping out of her domain only made those emotions surge a hundredfold.

"What have you done?" Uriel growled, her tone carrying the low, menacing edge of a beast about to pounce on its prey.

Clyde shrugged. "I was just passing by. But this place looked abandoned, so I figured I might as well salvage something from it."

Uriel's eyes widened, the flames in them flaring even brighter. "What do you mean? You stole my artifact?!"

"It's not stealing if the owner isn't home," Clyde replied smoothly.
