Taking Shelter

After what happened with Clyde and Asqa back then — after standing in the presence of that corrupted storm and feeling the weight of Clyde's demands — Morvius had made his decision.

For now, he would play along. He would still act like a servant of order and a neutral guardian of balance. But in truth, he had chosen survival.

He would serve under Clyde's rule until he could find a crack, a slip, or a way to find the traitor that had sold the information about this place to Clyde.

He wasn't foolish. He knew Clyde was dangerous. But Asqa? That thing — whatever she truly was— was probably worse. Her petite and cute face is obscuring the cruelty in her eyes. It was as if she had some grudge for the higher realms.

Morvius had felt it. That ancient incomprehensible pressure pressing down on his soul when Clyde looking at him. It wasn't loyalty that held Morvius in place under his order, it was fear.

So he crafted a script.
