I felt a little bit of worry rise up inside of me. “Overnight?” Just as there was no way in hell I could, despite how appealing the thought seemed to me.

Perhaps understanding how unrealistic his request was, he made a strange look. "Only for a short time."

It didn't take much to persuade me. After a long day, I was content to stay where I was since it was warm and comfortable. Taking a long breath, I then released it. “Yes.”

His grin was huge and infectious.

As my vision blurred, I blinked and shuffled about a little before figuring out where I was. Even when we were both fast asleep, Carl's arm was slung around my waist, holding me. Unfortunately, I was unable to determine the time. The sun was still up, or at least bright enough to illuminate the room, but otherwise it was pitch black.
