And there was King Spenser, still reading at the table. The night was so quiet that he could still see his lamp glowing and hear the crickets outside.

He was certain that everyone else in the house, including the servants, chefs, and Queens, was sound sleeping. Only the security personnel may still be awake.

Spenser, though, was in no way near sleep. Spenser didn't even have the energy to flinch or feel sleepy.

What did he do to deserve such a curse?

He let out a sigh and looked down at the stack of books.

He couldn't sleep, so he bought a ton of books to read in order to pass the time. A guy would eventually weary of reading, however. After that, he got to his feet and went over to the window, where he stood there with his hands behind his back.

His pale blue eyes were fixed blankly on the night outside, despite his attractive appearance.
