Spenser told her to "set the food on the table and go," so she did as she was told.

He went up to the table and sat down, revealing the plates, since he was the only one in the room.

A voice in his thoughts said, "So much food, Spenser; yet you know you won't be able to eat." It was a voice he trusted, so he didn't dismiss it.

Even though he's never had food, he knows what it's like to be hungry.

He reached for a spoon and ate a spoonful of the warm soup.

Then he scooped in more, including some veggies covered in sauce. He ate quite quickly because he was starving.

He kept on eating, attempting to stuff his stomach, which felt as empty as if he hadn't eaten in years.

For the first time in a long time, he realized, he was hungry.

Ella opened her eyes, rolled over on the bed, and sighed as the lingering ache in her vaginal area returned.

As she lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling and rehashing the events of the previous night, she sighed deeply.
