She intended to ensure that, even if the King had other wives, she would remain his favorite. She was determined to win back the King's affection and prove that she really was the one he had always wanted by recreating the spark of their first love.

After making her way down the corridor, she reached the King's quarters, where she would presumably face the guards.

The King's guards never welcome anybody.

Olivia, her face flushed and her heart racing, whispered, "I need to see the King."

"Sorry, but it's not possible right now. "He's got some shut-eye. The guards all chimed in with a response.

A lengthy, thoughtful pause.

Though she wanted to sneer, Olivia held back. Which King? Sleeping? How?

"I….. "She laughed and said, "I don't believe."

"What do you mean he's sleeping? "

Actually, the guards knew that Viscar had tried to see the King some time ago, but that the King was asleep and had denied his visit.
