It was her father's comments, "Carlin only loved you as a mother, she was never your mother," that kept playing through her mind.

he wasn't her dad. She sobbed as the voice repeated over and over in her mind, causing her tears to fall. It seems she was raised alone. It's no surprise they never loved her or respected her; she was always treated like a slave.

As she was sprinting to catch up with the carriage, Rebecca called out, "Ella!"

She quickly turned around and saw her gloomy self approaching. It was at this point that Ella stopped walking, but the tears continued to fall.

They should have known better than to expect her to be able to keep herself in check. Rebecca stood in front of Ella and sobbed, "I'm sorry, Ella." She said,

"I'm sorry you had to discover the truth the hard way," and Ella stared at her in shock. Did she know about it too?

"I had learned the truth just a few years ago," she went on.
