Chapter 379 Testing new powers

In the distance, Rex lifted his right hand. Without using any Qi, trees instantly grew. The grass grew thicker. The ground became more nourished.

Just noticing the first changes, Rex was instantly stunned. He had not even tried to use Qi this was mind blowing to him.

"Such good use on the first time." Mother Nature replied behind him.

Rex turned around and felt that he had done something wrong.

"My blessing is not to increase your Earth Mana control. It allows you to naturally grow and control the Nature around you." Mother Nature replied.

"Mana?" Rex questioned.

Mother Nature looked at him confused.

"What do you mean Mana? Is that not what you normally use? I can sense you use Holy, Dark, Water, Fire, and Earth Magic." Mother Nature replied.

Red was instantly stunned. He was using Qi not Mana. She still got the use of his Qi correctly.

"Will this be like the others?" Rex thought.

"Perhaps. To me it all the uses are the same, at least for humans. As for creatures, I can tell the difference. For demons, it is the same." Tiamat sent a message.

Mother Nature shook Rex slightly. This was to make sure that he was alright. Rex dropped his jaw. That was the only thing his body could naturally do at this moment.

He knew of Mana from the games he heard about and played. There was even a few books that he read and the user would use Mana.

"No time like the present." Rex thought.

He turned his attention back to Loyalist Tarrasque and Mother Nature.

"There are some people who I am going to ask to come here and help. I hope that everything goes smoothly. There is still a lot of people that need rescued and we have help to get them there." Rex said.

Loyalist Tarrasque bowed in response. Mother Nature also gave a slight bow but she was more worried about Rex using his new powers without fully comprehending them.

"Will you test the powers somewhere else or wait to use them?" Mother Nature replied in a worried tone.

"I will come back to test them. First, I have to get help to figure out what is going with the Shadow People. I have too many questions and not enough answers." Rex answered.

Mother Nature felt that something was off about the Shadow People herself. She would not directly tell Rex herself.

"To the Fifth Heavenly Realm." Rex said.

A portal opened up in response, Rex casually walked in the portal.

In the office of Deathholder

"Finally, the last of this crap is done." Deathholder said.

A portal opened up in front of him. This made the room slightly shake. It could have been him stretching so no one dared to ask.

Rex exited the portal. Deathholder was pleased to see Rex. Rex had an unpleasant look on his face.

"What seems to be troubling you?" Deathholder asked in a jokingly tone.

"I stopped one invasion and another one will be coming. This one will have the full power behind it." Rex said.

Deathholder felt that Rex was just a trouble seeker. He did not know why.

"Why are you always seeking out this troubles?" Deathholder asked.

"I just go with flow. Where ever the flow goes is where I am." Rex answered truthfully.

Deathholder rolled his eyes at Rex.

"So tell me, why brings you here?" Deathholder asked.

"Two things. First, I need some people to help protect several important people and creatures. As for why, the Shadow People are currently going to be looking for them. These people are like the Mistress in the Shadows. For whatever reason, these have a lot stronger mental capacity and their shadows are harder.

Second, I want to have a couple of Shadow People from your side to help me. This is just a gut instinct but I believe that there are twelve around here that belong to you. There is something that I need to try out." Rex said.

Three shadows moved. These were the most loyal to Deathholder and to the Mistress of the Shadows.

"These three have ways been by my side. They will help protect you and help you in any way possible. Just try to not push your luck too much." Deathholder replied.

"Thank you." Rex answered truthfully and hopefully.

Before anyone could do anything. Rex grabbed the arm of the man on the right and held it up. He watched the darkness closely.

The others were surprised at such speed. Even if they had one thousand years of pure training, they felt that Rex would still be faster than them.

The flower on Rex's shoulder glowed. The pain he felt gave him a message.

"Warning the blessing from Mother Nature is responding to the flow of Shadows on the person in front of you. This is a warning to stay away from them."

Rex read the message.

"I was right. This is truly heartbreaking." Rex said sorrowfully.

He was not going to hold the man's arm any longer. He gently released the arm. Tears slowly began to fall from Rex's face. He truly liked the people here. He did not know how to salvage this.

"What is wrong Rex?" Deathholder replied once the tears began.

"The Shadow People and these guys are the same. So that means that eventually they will either turn like then or be consumed by them." Rex replied with more tears flowing.

"What will we do?" Deathholder asked.

Rex was unsure of what to do. He knew that this information had to be kept sealed.

"You three will remain by my side. That is not an option you have. Did anyone else hear this?" Rex asked not using his Qi to help guide him.

"None." Deathholder said.

"Good. Come now." Rex ordered.

A portal opened back up to Earth.

"Such is life. When you want to save as many people as possible, the circumstances of saving them requires too much to handle. The joys of youth and how it makes people grow." Deathholder said.

The Mistress of the Shadows appeared from behind a bookcase.

"So, what will you do?" The Mistress asked.

"Absolutely nothing. This is ALL 110 percent Rex and how he wants to deal with it." Deathholder replied happily.

Being as old as him, he knew that Rex had the option to slaughter all of them or find a way to prevent the people from becoming Shadow People. He hoped that there could be a third option.

"Such is the joys of youth." Deathholder said while the Mistress watched the happiest smile she had ever seen on Deathholder's face.
