As the group of fighters fell. The creature turned on its back and a mouth was there ready to digest the falling humans and spirit.
Rex sent a punch straight into the creature's mouth. The air pressure behind the punch made the creature fall faster and get a hole on its back side.
To everyone's sudden attention, there was no splash or splat. This could only mean more trouble. As luck would have it, the human duo barely made it through a spider web.
The spirit was not affected by the web. That was because the owner was busy eating the other creature.
The spirit hurried and caught up to Maximum. She hugged him very tightly. She whispered a few words. The spirit was finally able to rest in peace.
Rex used his Water Qi and got Maximum to his side. Rex was not going to let Maximum die.
The falling seemed to make the duo extremely tired. To them, it felt that they had been falling for hours. Eyes had been on them making the time go by slower.
A light could be seen at the end of fall. Rex knew that he had to time it perfectly otherwise, they will die.
He made a Water Bubble and was going to force a ton of water to move at a rapid pace once he got closer.
The closer he got the more he realized that it was just a solid end. He sent Water Ball Qi attacks as fast as he could.
Even with the Water Bubble, he knew that this was going to kill him. Right before they hit the ground, something caught them. This saved them for now.
To Maximum, he felt that his spirit was doing one last favor before dying. This made him all the more anxious.
Four strange looking creatures came from the two exits on both sides. A black figure with long, thin arms, the eyes blacker than the darkest black, heads that were more pointed back, and once they turned around spikes going up and down their spine. Yes, some were actually moving while others were solid.
Only one creature returned. It happened to have a worn out sign saying, 'If you understand these letters, follow me.'
Rex could not read the lettering. It was an ancient way of writing without using the full words, just bits and pieces.
Maximum told Rex to follow the creature. Hundreds upon hundreds of dog creatures eating bones were seen. Rex knew that he had to protect Maximum at all costs.
When the group arrived at the end of the corridor. Everything looked weird, strange pictures of people eating dead bodies, the chairs looked more like suicidal sit downs, even a weird entertainment center with dead bodies being spread open.
A voice told them to sit. Rex swallowed his spit and barely sat down. When he did, he felt the seats warm up and improve his veins.
Maximum sat down and could feel Heavenly Qi entering into his Dantian. What made him truly worried was that he had never been able to feel it before.
As the duo got slightly cocomfortable. A door creaked open, and Rex was on high alert.
"¡ m $!@" the voice said as the door closed.
"Sir, $!@ both me and my Son-in-law both thank you for your hospitality." Maximum said.
The person's name was in ancient tone and Rex was not able to understand it. When the time came, a butler came in. The butler looked more like a young master from a wealthy family.
"When your treatment is done, please head this way." The butler said in a motion pointing towards the door.
When the heat finally cooled off and even Maximum could no longer feel Heavenly Qi. The duo got up and walked towards the door slowly. Their legs felt like jello and each step was harder than the last.
The duo did make it in. When the door closed, howls from the dogs came rushing in. They began sniffing for any clues. Two dogs ended up going unto the chairs that Rex and Maximum sat in.
Unlike before, the spikes shot upwards and skewered the dogs. The others howled and started barking at the chairs.
A couple others got hit from above with spikes. This caused the dogs to go back to their domain. Their eyes glowed in anger.
As soon as they felt, the door opened and the butler came out.
"Filthy varmin." The butter said in disgust.
A blue fire came from his index finger. Once it touched the dogs, not even ashes remained.
As the butler walked towards the door. A single dog came back. His eyes burning with anger and his howls allowing blood of his enemies to come out.
The butler snapped his fingers and a spike went through the dog's head. The dog's body moved back and thr head regenerated instantly.
"No wonder you have led that pack for so long. You are almost unkillable." The butler said.
"Thankfully, I too have a pet like you." The butler said.
Upon touching the door handle, a pressure of pure death emitted from the door. Even the dog was surprised to feel what was coming from there.
"Do you want to dance?" The butler asked the dog.
The dog turned and ran away. Although, it could look like shame to the other dogs. No dog could handle what the butler's pet was.
"It is fine dear, just relax now." The butler said.
The aura of death faded slowly.
"When the dogs come back, you can eat as many of then as you want." The butler said.
When the butler opened the door. A pair of fire red eyes was in front of him.
"Be a good girl now. I will find an evil Soul for to enjoy." The butler said.
Whatever the creature was, it's eyes turned green and nudged the owner. The duo walked into the dark hallway.
The first door on the right showed the spirits who Maximum had a good relationship with.
