As Rex entered the basement, the stone walls were much cleaner than the previous house. The captives although scared were in much better condition.
There were no tools, weapons, chains, or surgical items anywhere inside the room. Only two chairs that were beside the doorway.
"There is a formation under us. It is connected to the house itself. Apparently, from what I heard the formation was placed down and the house on top of it." A captive told Rex.
"Good thing I only killed the ones that looked shady." Rex thought.
As he scanned the room, he felt something off as a key he got from the previous house slightly shook in his pants.
The captives saw the pants slightly shake. They immediately huddled closer together to try and protect themselves. Before they hugged each other, the noble entered the room.
"Why did you not hurt others sir?" The noble asked.
"They did not seem like ones who were evil. Also, what does this key go to?" Rex replied.
"A key to the stone wall over on that side of the room. I am not entirely sure where because I was always forced to look away." The noble replied.
The captives knew that the noble here was someone who made a bad decision and was suffering because of it. They knew that mistakes happen and this was apart of it.
"Please don't hurt the noble. He is telling the truth." Several of the captives spoke in fear.
Rex listened to them. Their words in fear of him, the truth in their eyes told him all he needed to, and then he turned to the noble.
"Do you know of any other key around here?" Rex asked.
"I broke the other key but it might work." Thr noble spoke.
Rex was led to another room. When the noble entered, he halted Rex. He went to grab a box from the top shelf. When the duo opened the box outside the room. The key was together like it had never been broken.
"I made sure to even change the location of the box! I do not know why this key is like this!" The noble was afraid.
Rex could tell how afraid he was just in his tone. That did not mean anything.
"Is there anyone else who could changed your key?" Rex asked.
"Only one of two men. One is already dead. The other went to get the captives out." The noble replied before rushing to his son's room.
When the door was pushed open up. The noble knew what had happened.
"That Bastard!" The noble cursed.
Rex was silently waiting for the noble to come back. He figured he knew what happened.
"I am going to take you to their base of operations. It is the closest one here but it will be tough once we are in." The noble replied with an anger of great magnitude.
"Listen well. These keys probably will lead us to your son. However, I will say this. There are probably also captives taken ensure that your son has wives, butlers, and maids for the future.
If any of them wish to stick with him. You have to become a noble willing to host them in the future. I am sure that the ones taken were either the more powerful people or extremely beautiful women.
If any of those people are truly hurt. You must pay with your own medicine first. Of course, the current ruler will know that you are truly a better person than the last family that was slaughtered." Rex told him.
Tears ran down the noble's face. Part of them of joy to hear how Rex knew he was better, part of them of sadness from the current ruler knowing what he done, and the final part of the people who would be near his son now.
"Promise me to make sure that this base and the others will all become destroyed." The noble asked.
"I will. I want to know why such a good person like you became like this." Rex replied.
"Once you return, the entire story will be told." The noble said.
Rex turned to return to the basement. He grabbed both keys. Trying to see which one would open the door in the wall.
When he entered one of the captives stood right where the other man was and had his hand.
"Slowly take my place sir. I am just an ugly woman who cannot even get glances from people even most of the captives here won't look at me." The female voice spoke.
"There is no such thing as an ugly woman. You might not be perfect but someone will take notice of you." Rex told her.
When the woman turned around, Rex was stunned to see such a jaw dropping beauty in front of him.
Her clothes seemed to make her seem ugly. That is why no one paid attention to her. Rex knew then that she needed to be the one for the noble's son.
"Once I take your place, have the noble take you shopping. You will become someone for his son. I do not care what position you hold. You must make sure to hold one." Rex told her.
She blushed hard and when Rex had taken her spot. She told the noble what Rex told her. Even the noble agreed with Rex.
"My wife please come." The noble called.
The noble's wife came down in a slight hurry. When she stopped, she saw the beautiful woman in front of her. She knew that her position as wife was gone now.
"Take her to the bath and get her into some more comfortable clothes. She will become someone worthy of our son." The noble spoke.
"Of course. Come on." The noble called.
When the noble turned around, Rex had already disappeared.
"Why did you honestly come here for? To help me, help my son, the captives, those bastards, or something entirely different?" The noble spoke and the captives heard every word.
