Rex and the butler both entered a room. This room was far too nice to belong in a cave. The rocky ground looked almost like a paved road, the bookshelves that housed books of untold riches both financially and through the contents, no water seemed to drip from the ceiling which was no telling how high, a garden paradise awaited the meeting trio, and the most shocking thing to Rex.
Nature was truly alive on the inside. Birds chirped through the sky, beasts roared at the anger of missing their prey, fish jumped from a lake on the other side of the garden, birds of prey flew down to grab a fish, and all that Rex could be do was have his jaw dropped.
"Such beauty is without price." The man who was with the noble talked from behind.
Rex turned his attention behind him. The man seemed to be expecting Rex himself. A weird smile came from the man to Rex.
"Either he cannot smile or he has plans for me?" Rex thought through the smile that was given to him.
"Well, shall we talk about the noble and his family?" The man asked without worrying about attacks.
"Sure." The instant reply made the butler shudder but the man was quite proud to hear the instant reply.
"How are you going to report him to the ruler?" The man asked.
"A man who owns mistakes and tried his best to fix them while still having to keep the mistakes going. Sure he does deserve the death penalty, however he was not like the other families. That alone is the reason why he will remain alive and in power until his son either becomes of age or he dies trying to protect the city." Rex answered truthfully.
"I always hated that about the man. He cared too much for the public. I guess that reason alone gave him the ability to survive whereas the others were purely greedy and coldhearted." The man replied.
"Well, since business is now done for. Allow me to ask one question. What happens to me?" The butler asked.
"You can either turn yourself in or try to live out your life in the wild." The man replied.
"Did you physically or mentally hurt anyone on your own or were you told to?" Rex asked.
"Honestly, I always gave it to another. I hate getting my hands bloody." The butler replied.
"Join the noble as a butler. That way, at least you have a chance to die first trying to protect the public." Rex told him.
"Thank you good sir." The butler replied and was motioned to leave.
Peace and quiet filled the air. Nothing series but watching wildlife and nature before their eyes.
"You know. I always wanted to outright buy that evil Sect that killed that woman's husband. No matter how much I procured, nothing seemed to work. I finally figured out why. They hunt the wildlife and abuse their own pets.
The evil inside them starts at the beginning and flows down to the bottom. I figured out that the top of the Sect is truly aligned with killing towns and ravaging as many women as he can get ahold of.
I will do what I can to help you ensure that the Sect is destroyed. After that, I want you to not spill the beans on me. I would rather take life into my own hands than to die like a worthless piece of meat." The man spoke.
Rex looked at the man. He knew how it feels to be control of your life and be free. He hated how he could only rely on his women in the first time through to get him to the higher Realms.
"I promise you this. As long as you do not involve yourself in the city. You will not be hunted nor tortured. However, I will ask the noble to give a detailed explanation of yourself to the ruler to give out.
If you dare to appear inside that city rather it be for a night of shelter or going into any house. You will become an enemy of the city and a traitor to the noble." Rex replied.
The man smiled because this meeting was more fruitful and lovely with Rex than he could ever have imagined.
"Sometime, we need to do this again but just watch the day passed as the sun rises and sets. It will bring joy to my life." The man spoke.
As Rex chuckled at the words, he too wanted to know a good spot to enjoy wildlife like this. He came here for one more reason and he needed to know.
"Where is the family that the woman targeting the Oracle?" Rex asked.
"Those losers actually dared to target that man." The man was about to lose his cool.
Rex was glad that these man had no idea about that. Now, this would give the two of them a reason to utterly crush the other nobles within the city.
