A Fool and A Dumb

"What do you mean by that question?" Blake looked straight at Marissa.

"I mean, being friends with you for a whole decade, I seriously didn't know much about you!" Her voice raised and it shocked Micky.

"Sis, calm down." Micky didn't think this was a right place for argument. "This is a hospital."

"Let's talk outside…" Blake suddenly reached for her hand.

Marissa pulled it right away, "Don't touch me!"

"Okay…" He surrendered. "Please, let's talk."

Marissa was quiet for a few moments. She was sending him a short glare then walked out of the room.

Immediately understanding her action, Blake followed from behind. He was not in a good mood either. Before he entered the room, Doma called him. His grandmother was faster in getting her hand on Henry. He couldn't get the reason why his grandmother was also searching for Marissa's father. For that reason, he was now in a bad mood.

Blake followed her until she stopped at the end of the corridor. She turned and gave him another glare, "Now tell me who are you?"

"I am who I am…Blake King…what do you mean by 'who are you?' " Blake was still having a hard time understanding the meaning of her question earlier. "It is not like I have a double personality that you would be confused with."

"Ha ha ha, and do you think that's funny?" Marissa sarcastically laughed.

"And who the hell said I'm joking?!" Blake was seriously pissed.

"Our friendship is a joke, right?" She suddenly added.

"Excuse me?" He slapped his forehead lightly, looking up. "Now tell me, at this moment I feel like a fool as I am so clueless. What is wrong with you right now?" He was utterly confused. Before he went to buy them breakfast, this woman in front of him was the one who proposed marriage to him but now she behaved like a lion that didn't eat for a whole week. 'This is not a dream, right?'

"You feel like a fool?" She snickered. "What about me? You have been fooling me all these years."

"When?!" His voice arose since he was not satisfied with her accusation.

"You…who are you? Which family are you coming from? Are you seriously a manager? How rich are you? There are a lot more questions that have been bugging my mind since I saw the room you paid for my mom." Marissa took a breath. She was so angry she didn't realise she talked too fast.

"I told you before, right?" His brow almost touched each other when he frowned hard.

"I know only the basic things about you but you know all! All about me!" She stopped after yelling at the top of her lungs. "You know how messed up my life is!"

Blake's mouth pursed tight hearing that. Now he knew what made her frustrated. The embarrassment that she felt when he knew about her miserable life, like an open book.

He stepped forward and slowly brought her into his embrace. Her chest was heaving up and down because of her anger but it turned into a loud sobbing when she received Blake's warm hug.

"Why…?" She asked with her head on his chest, "Why am I the one who must face this hardship? Why?" Her shoulders shook hard as she let out everything she felt inside.

Blake caressed her hair. "Shhhh…" He tried to calm her down but it didn't seem to stop. He was worried she would have difficulty breathing. "Marissa…hey…"

When she didn't respond, he panicked and lifted her up and moved to the nearby chair.

Shock, Marissa immediately stopped crying. Her legs were automatically wrapped around his waist and her hands around his neck. "What happened?"

Blake put her down and crouched in front of her. He let out a sigh of relief. "I am afraid as you cry too hard…" He wiped her tears that had been smudging her beautiful face. "Feeling better?"

Marissa nodded but then she shook her head a second after.

Blake raised his brow in confusion. "Yes or no?"

"Yes and no…" She answered.

His eyes widened but this time a smile formed on his lips, "What is it? Tell me."

She frowned and pouted her mouth, "How can a three month old manager afford this VIP room?"

Seeing her cute pouty mouthed and how she narrowed her eyes waiting for his answer, he couldn't hold his smile. " I told you I am rich to begin with…"

Marissa brought her lips tightly together. She recalled him telling her about being rich but for her, the one who came from the lower tier, rich, was divided on many levels. "How rich?"

"Hmm…well…I can afford that room…" He pointed to the room that her mother was placed in.

She shook her head, "Another example?" She couldn't imagine it as she didn't know how much the room cost.

Blake suddenly stood up, "I didn't seem rich to you all this time?" He turned around to let her see his whole appearance. Honestly, he could use his money to lure her to him but he didn't want it. Money was the reason his entire family collapsed so it would never be his option.

"You do look like a spoiled rich kid." She bobbed her head, agreeing.

Hearing that statement, Blake burst out laughing. She was too honest and sometimes Blake caught off guard.

"So, when will we get married?" She asked casually, like it was nothing.

"Sorry?" He didn't believe what he just heard and responded out of surprise. "What do you mean?"

"I told you earlier. A marriage as a return for the loan." She once again utter all of those things easily.

Blake's expression changed. He didn't like how the marriage thing was going.

Marissa raised her brow in confusion as she saw the changes in his face. "Why?"

"What do you think you are?" His voice hinted he was mad. "When I propose a marriage for you, I didn't expect it would end up this way." The way she easily uttered those words made him burnt in anger.

Marissa's eyes blinked in puzzlement. She was trying to understand what he meant by that.

"You make it like I am buying you!"

Blake's voice reached straight to her heart, making her freeze.
