Mason's Call

Blake was taken aback by the woman's unexpected call and remained silent as she introduced herself on the line.

"I know this is quite a surprise after our encounter the other day," Ivy continued when Blake didn't respond. "But can we meet?"

"Why? I don't see any reason for us to meet," Blake responded this time.

The reply from Blake made the other line silent.

"Isn't it better to stay like we didn't know each other like before, after all, the thing that happened two years ago was a mistake," Blake voiced his opinion.

"I know, but I found that my husband started to get suspicious again, for no reason," Ivy told him the reason for her call.

"And what makes you think it is about us? You would never know about me if we hadn't met again the other day," Blake found it was a shallow excuse to call him after all this time. "Honestly, Mrs. Ivy, I don't even remember anything about that night."

Ivy once again lost her words.
