The Woman Who Was Abandoned

"Madam," Marissa's staff called her from the kitchen. She had been busy observing the new dessert they would be serving that day, worried that it wouldn't turn out as she expected.

"What is it?" Marissa asked without even turning her head.

"There is a customer who has been shouting outside. She claims that the dessert she bought here caused her food poisoning."

Surprised, Marissa put down the icing tube in her hand. She hadn't heard anything from outside and was unaware of the situation. "Let me see," she said, taking off her apron and quickly making her way to the front.

"I demand to speak to the owner of this terrible bakery! Get me your manager!" The woman, who appeared to be in her late twenties, shouted at the top of her lungs.

Marissa calmly approached the woman and gave her a faint smile. "May I help you, miss?"
