Ruins

The path was dim and the lighting was only his skill [Ward evil]. It radiated in a pristine glow and was indeed useful even in a matter of simply being used for lighting only. If a monster was already lurking with him, it would not immediately attack him. All monsters below a weak level will only cower in the darkness.

Roan paved the sewers, and the waters were higher than usual as there was a storm currently brewing up above ground. He was paving the waters with more endeavors as usual. It was on the level of his waist already and stepping on a more hollow floor would make him sink in the process. Making his backpack drenched in the waters.

He went straight for hours and his splashing on the waters was heard for who knows how long now. The water became harder and harder to pave as the current was getting stronger. He heard squeals of rats on the way and they were lively. Making him have a little fun at the moment.

He was paving the waters and then heard a louder rushing of the waters. Making him think it was the end of the path. Or more like an exit of the way. He then exited the damp waters and saw a forest with cricket sounding by the rivers. The river was just outside and he swam in the waters. Arriving on the others made him drenched wet.

"Whohoo, sigh that was something. The village is done for, I hope to arrive at the next village and seek help. Also, to notify the other villages of the Dark fellowship. Things just got out of hand and all Guards were killed."

He paved the road beside the river and saw a pole sign. The next village will be a few miles away and it will be a whole day of traveling. The rain subsided and the storm passed. Only the cold wind remained to make him have a cold embrace. He felt chilly but his clothes were slowly drying up.

"Whohoo, it felt chilly," Roan shivered.

The path was being lighted with his skill [Ward evil] and his mana was slowly used up. Replenishing it and waiting then continuing the path at several intervals. Paving the leaves-covered road, rustles of the trees were heard beside the way.

It was then, for a mile that he traveled, that he saw broken carriages along the way. Ransacked and looted. Broken wheels splintered, and the roof and walls were broken down while the windows detached.

The first one on the road was a passenger carriage while on its back was a supply carriage. The Passenger carriage was broken down and burned. While the supply carriage was looted. Crates were seen scattered and had broken shards of potions. The smell of mixed variants of potions wafted his nose. Only the cushions of the potions inserted were what remained.

"Well, maybe the reason for the delays of the potions is indeed banditry or the dark fellowship themselves. I can think that they are more active now in gaining strength. Well, I can't make a mistake that this is the potion caravan that the mages mentioned."

Roan scratched his head but as he went to cover the lid of one crate, he saw a single potion left behind covered with a grass cushion. To his surprise, it was left in a hurry. Or was accidentally dropped by one of the looters? He grabbed it and put it inside his backpack.

It was then, that he lit up the road with his spell and he continued the path toward the next village. His clothes were slightly dried up at the moment, thanks to the wind that was constantly blowing.

The road took small swerves and he traveled for miles. Not a creature tried to disturb him or maybe they were weak monsters. He can only hear the howls of wolves on the way but was left unaffected by their sounds.

Soon, he arrived at the village entrance. A pole on both sides with a sign that says "Village of Skuld".

"Village of Skuld? Oh, I remember!"

Troan was excited to enter but he felt disturbed, knowing that something was not right at the place, it was very silent. It was also pretty dark and had no noise. The wind was the only one making the surroundings bathe with its sound. No dogs barking and just the windows or doors slamming.

"Hello!? Anybody at home?"

In his memories, this village has many villagers and was under the protection of the Necromancer tribe. Many kids were running and playing in the past and were a place for many people. Necromancers played with the kids with their summons in the daytime and were very actively patrolling at night. He wondered what happened to such a peaceful place.

Some houses were small and detached roofs. Slightly spaced out from each other. They have herds of cows and goats in their village. Making it a place for meat sources. Even so, it was silent. Making it weird at the moment.

He entered the place with his spell and saw bodies littered on the ground. His bad feelings then came true. He saw four Necromancers on his front already dead. A sign of battle has happened and they were heavily wounded. They were all nailed to a cross and were stabbed nonstop. Upon examining them, they have their belongings intact.

He looted them and looted 12 silvers. He grabbed the one-handed scythe and bone shield of one of them.

"Jackpot! I am so lucky!" Roan nearly shouted.

On the first Necromancer, he looted [Skill book: Exploding souls],

"This kind of Necromancer specializes in souls. It was on damage and crowd control. Maybe he was a damage dealer,"

On the second one, he looted the [Skill book: Summon graveyard]

"This kind was on the summoning and a semi-tank of the team,"

On the third one, he looted [Skill book: Ghost march].

"This one is a Ghost specialist. Might have died last,"

As for the last and fourth one, he looted [Skill book: Bone shield].

"This one is a Bone specialist, hmmm quite good."

He continued to search for more but he only saw

more and more corpses on the way. Markings of dark fellowship littered the place. Their engravings of goat heads were grotesquely painted on walls with the blood of the citizens. Roan was infuriated, he saw that this place was peaceful and peace-loving folks. To desecrate their bodies spells great anger deep inside him. Emaciated and grotesquely separated body parts were seen along his travels.

Not wanting to puke but his stomach was churning up. His face can't be painted right now. Making him want to vomit what he has eaten.

He saw a tree in the center of the village and it was a landmark. A blossoming apple tree in the past but a withered tree with bodies hanged now. He prayed for their bodies to have eternal rest. The sanctity of the place was nowhere can be seen. All were dead and only the wind was whooshing as a reply.

Monsters were seen still eating several corpses. Specifically, ghouls that were hardy and resilient. Bosses have regeneration abilities. Boasts of a Health, Mana, and, Stamina regeneration crystal.

Roan sneaked and prepared all his Focus. Three slashes have to be made and then a surprise attack will be a devastating blow to them.

Luckily, these monsters have low in terms of senses. And so Roan used it to his advantage. He slashed three times and their head was hit. Passing through the other side of the neck.

It was then, that he killed all three with a decapitation without them knowing. Sadly they didn't have regeneration stat crystals with them They were busy eating the corpses and they died as their head was flung with precise slashes.

It was then, that he heard several clashes of weapons. One can hear them from afar and someone was shouting. Roan went to investigate and then he saw a necromancer battling a boss monster. Making Roan watch and learn what his skills were.
