The Pen Drive

ELENA

We all watched with widened eyes as the officer held the small pen drive between his fingers.

"Could it be..."

"Let's find out," Wilson said before instructing his assistant to get a laptop from the car.

The man rushed out to follow his senior's order. I glanced at Devon to see the lines of worry begin to form on his face no matter how hard he tried to remain calm.

Was he worried that Carson might have a shred of evidence of his secret? Or was he worried for his dad and the family business? I was sure as hell that Victor Sanders had his hands dirty to the elbows.

Carson's assistance came with a laptop. Frida helped the man turn a table and a chair upright, where he then sat. Placing the laptop on the table, he switched it on.

We gathered around Williams' assistance, holding our breaths to see what that pen drive held.
