Chapter 24: Invitation!

Chapter 24: Invitation!

The officer stood dumbfounded as Aakesh left the area. The nearby adventurers also noticed the scene. Many couldn't help but murmur about why the officer approached that adventurer in the first place.

Aakesh had different things going on in his head, so he ignored the conversations around him and proceeded toward the town.

Aakesh first went to the bathhouse and took a refreshing bath. His mood got better as he came out of the place.

The bathhouse also offered laundry services, so Aakesh didn't need to waste money on clothes. The time it took for him to take a bath was enough for the house to clean his Adevntuere's Beginner Set and dry it.

There were two ways to sell items at this stage of the game. The first involved setting up your stall after paying the required sum, whereas the second involved selling the item to NPC-run stores.

Both had their benefits. While selling to stores eliminated any hassles and saved time, selling on one's own often brought in more money than the actual product.

Aakesh had enough time, and he wanted to earn money, so he also decided to go for the stall option. It was his second day in the game, but he had yet to converse with any adventurers. This way, he would meet other adventurers whose levels were higher and who had earned sufficient money.

After reaching the center of the town, Aakesh booked a roadside stall for him. It cost him ten copper coins every hour since it was the busiest street in the town.

***

It has been around ten minutes since Aakesh opened the stall. There were only two items available for sale. The first was the sword, and the second was the amulet.

Apprentice's Sword(Trash)

Description: A lightweight, well-balanced sword with a straight, single-edged blade.

Equipment Level: 0

Requirement: [Master of all Sword Arts]

Damage: 4-6

Speed: 3

Durability: 19/25

System Remarks: A Trashy Sword

The sword's durability had gone further after the battle and since Aakesh decided to buy a weapon from the money he gained by selling the amulet.

The sword had already been sold for fifteen copper coins, bringing him at least the invested money.

Until now, many customers had approached Aakesh for the amulet. It was an ordinary item with great advantage in this town, so people were interested in buying it.

Aakesh had set the price of the amulet at fifty bronze coins. Aakesh wasn't being greedy here; it was the amount that the system told him when he rented the stall.

The system helped the adventurers by telling them the market price. As for setting the price, it depended on the seller.

"Fifty bronze coins for an amulet!" An unfamiliar voice rang in Aakesh's ears as he was waiting for a customer to arrive.

Aakesh turned in the direction of the voice and saw a group of adventurers approaching him. It was easy to find other adventurers in the game because there was a projection of Earth only visible to gamers floating above every player. The setting allowed the adventurers to hide the projection, but there was no benefit to doing this at this stage of the game, so no adventurers hid it.

Aakesh frowned as he sensed a conflict coming his way after seeing the swaggering and arrogant walk of the group members.

Since Aakesh wanted to stay away from any conflict and only wanted to complete his sale, he nodded toward the man.

"Why don't you sell it to me for ten copper coins?" The man arrogantly laughed.

If not for the fighting prohibition on the street, the man would have tried to snatch the amulet from Aakesh.

The men's game ID was Slasher. Slasher and his group attempted to clear tough level Hunting Ground, but they failed in the end. So when Slasher saw an item that could restrict wolves below Level 10, he wanted to buy it.

Slasher wasn't a bad player, so if he and his group contributed, they could take out fifty bronze coins, but he didn't want to. Seeing that Aakesh was alone, Slasher and his group decided to intimidate him and buy the amulet without paying its actual cost.

Slasher looked at Aakesh with a smile, as if he was hoping for him to say yes and sell him the amulet for ten copper coins.

"See how rampant beggars have become!"

Suddenly another voice rang in the area as another group approached the stall.

When Slasher saw the face of the man, his face turned ugly.

"Why do you let beggars approach your stall?" The man laughed, seeing Slasher's ugly face, and then asked Aakesh with a wink. Aakesh could only stare at the group.

"What are you doing here, Slinger?" Slasher asked while grinding his teeth.

No other members from the two groups spoke, as Slasher and Slinger came from great backgrounds and they didn't want to offend either of them for just a game.

"Even though I don't need this amulet for clearing tough-level dungeons, since I like it, I will buy it," Slinger ignored Slasher and stated, clearly taunting Slasher.

Slasher's veins popped out in anger, but he controlled himself. Slinger not only had a higher level, but his group also had larger numbers.

"Just you wait for me, Slinger!" Slasher left with a threat in his voice.

Aakesh looked dumbfounded at the scene in front of him. He was only here to sell the amulet and make some money, but a weird situation took place.

"Thank you for the help!"

Even though Aakesh didn't need the man's assistance if the situation became difficult, he thanked Slinger for coming to his aid, whether it was intentional or not.

"Do you want to join our team?" Slinger only smiled in response to Aakesh before suddenly asking.

Aakesh looked up in surprise at the man.

"You don't need to look at me that way. I already know you didn't need our help," Slinger further added.

"What do you mean?" Aakesh's heart grew vigilant, and he asked the man. He had been minding his own business since he came here, and his level is also only Level 5, so why would the man say such a thing?
