Chapter 38: Seven Classes(1)

Chapter 38: Seven Classes(1)

As Aakesh came down the stairs, what welcomed him was an angry stare from his mother.

A helpless smile emerged on his face as he didn't have to think about the reason.

"Why did you cut her phone call this way?" The mother asked.

"I got nervous," Aakesh replied with a wry smile.

The mother's expression softened, but she still reprimanded Aakesh for doing that. Both parties were feeling nervous, but that wasn't the way to treat Shachi.

"You need to apologize." The father, who mostly stayed silent in this conversation between Aakesh and his mother, chimed in.

"I will send an apology text," Aakesh responded.

Then suddenly Aakesh looked at his mother and said, "You promised me you would wait for my decision."

The mother wanted to say something, but she stopped with a sigh escaping her mouth.

Aakesh then changed the conversation's topic and began talking about Panagea.

Time flew by, and Aakesh returned to his room.

Aakesh undressed and placed his clothes on the bed as the process went. He then went to the device and unlocked it using his biometrics.

[Welcome, player Ikshvaku!]

The familiar, repeatable statement rang in his ears as Aakesh entered and stepped inside the pool of blue liquid.

The next moment, when Aakesh opened his eyes, he found himself back in the place where he had last logged out.

The MP and HP recovery rates depended upon the level and the intelligence and endurance stats respectively.

The MP recovery rate was half the sum of level and intelligence per hour, while the HP recovery rate was half the sum of level and endurance.

Since Aakesh was Level 10, while his intelligence was 34, his MP recovery rate was 22 MP per hour.

Aakesh had been around for more than one hour outside the game, while more than two hours had passed in Panagea, so he had gained some forty MP, which was still short of what Aakesh needed to activate the diary.

There were MP recovery potions, but they were too expensive for even Aakesh to spend on them.

In the game Myth Online, players couldn't postpone the advancement of classes, as they would stop gaining XP once they reached Level 10. The situation would continue until they found a class.

Aakesh had three options in front of him, but since these were only basic classes, he didn't care about them.

Aakesh found no choice other than buying a potion, as it would still take him around three hours in reality to gain enough MP to activate the diary.

"Dear customer, what do you want to buy?" The receptionist respectfully asked Aakesh after he entered the potion store.

It was a large store that had a monopoly over the potion market in Wolf Town. Since Aakesh knew that the people here weren't NPCs, he treated them as such and went to a popular store, so the chances of him getting fooled would be less.

The basic appraisal ability could only identify the item, and it wasn't difficult to fool someone with only the name.

Aakesh answered with a smile, "I want an MP recovery potion." Who didn't like people talking respectfully to them?

The smile on the receptionist's face widened as the potion was expensive, and the more expensive the item, the more commission she would earn.

"Dear customer, you have come to the right place. We have a hundred percent no-complaint record."

"Dear customer, our store sells three variants of low-level MP recovery potion.

Third-grade low MP recovery potion: It can recover 75 MP at once. It costs ten silver coins. Adventurers below Level 50 can only take thirty of these in one day.

Second-grade low MP recovery potion: It can recover 150 MP at once. It costs fifteen silver coins. Adventurers below Level 50 can only take twenty of these in one day.

First-grade low MP recovery potion: It can recover 300 MP at once. It costs twenty-five silver coins. Adventurers below Level 25 can only take ten of these in one day."

As the receptionist introduced the potions, a blue screen containing the details of the three grades of low-level MP recovery potion emerged in front of him.

Aakesh had gained enough from the dungeon hunting today to buy two second-grade low MP recovery potions, but since one was enough for him to get enough MP, he paid fifteen silver coins and bought one second-grade low MP recovery potion.

The receptionist beamed with joy as she took the money and handed the potion to Aakesh.

The potion in Aakesh's hands was light purple in color. Aakesh stored it in his bag. To access the inventory, Aakesh first needed to choose his class, so he could only use the bag till that point.

"Dear Customer, have a great day!" The receptionist wished.

"You too," Aakesh smiled and left the store.

Aakesh found a hidden place in the town. It was now time for him to activate the diary.

The next moment, he took out the potion from his bag and opened its lid. A smell emanated from it as Aakesh without wasting even a second, poured the full content into his mouth.

A slight purple glow appeared around Aakesh, but it disappeared as quickly as it had arrived.

Aakesh felt energy rushing through his body as if he had gained something he had lost.

In no time, Aakesh's MP crossed the 200 mark and reached the limit he needed for the diary to activate.

After the diary's evolution, it had become completely linked to Aakesh, so he only thought about it, and the next moment, it appeared in front of him.

The diary in his hands looked bright, as it had sufficient energy to activate.

Aakesh didn't have to do any strange rituals to activate the diary; he only had to open it.

A hint of excitement appeared on his face as he opened the diary. The next moment, his MP began getting sucked in at an unprecedented rate.

In no time, Aakesh's MP reached two hundred, then one hundred, then fifty, and then only stopped when it reached around twenty-five.

Aakesh began to turn the pages, and in no time, he reached the newly-unlocked page.

[Congratulations, brother…]
