Chapter 54: Coin Toss!

Chapter 54: Coin Toss!

The class Coin Tosser and the item Pseudo Coin of Fate both had the skill Coin Toss.

The one from the class was an active class and cost 25 MP per toss, while the item's skill was passive. It was active at all times and didn't cost any MP.

So Aakesh felt slightly troubled by the toss, as any danger would result in an increase in cracks, and the higher the intensity, the more the damage.

But since Aakesh had no other choice, he flipped the coin up while asking, "Should I exit this palace, or should I leave this place and meet Veera and his group?"

The pseudo coin of fate had two sides. On one side was the pattern of a masked man throwing a coin, while on the other was a vast palace with grandeur oozing from it.

Aakesh's question wasn't direct, so both sides could imply danger. There were also chances of getting no answer from the coin, as the skill wasn't omnipotent. It had its limits, or the skill user had long ruled the world.

Whenever no clear answer could be divine, the coin would stand, instead of showing any side.

Aakesh hoped for a side to come as he chose the palace to mean leaving the palace, while the man throwing coins: meant joining the crowd.

Tang!

The coin finally landed on the ground, and a side appeared. Aakesh heaved a sigh of relief as he didn't get an unknown answer.

The palace appeared on the front, so according to it, leaving the palace was safer than joining the group.

At the same time, a slight crack also emerged on the coin. Aakesh frowned when he saw it.

The question he asked was complex, as it wasn't clear whether even the safer of the two was completely safe for someone like him.

Since there was a slight crack, it meant there was even danger in that option. Aakesh picked up the coin and flipped it again.

"Can I get extremely injured if I leave the palace?"

Tang!

The palace appeared on the coin's facing side. Aakesh heaved a sigh of relief.

The masked man throwing the coin signified the danger, while the palace signified there was no danger when there was no specific question. As for the intensity of the danger, it depended upon the crack.

This time no crack or healing light emerged, as the question signified neither danger nor safety.

After asking enough questions to fill every loophole Aakesh could think of, he decided to go with the option of leaving the palace.

As for Veera and his group, Aakesh remembered their faces since they were going to become his enemies from now on.

The next moment, Aakesh appeared outside the palace on the steps.

The diary had talked about how to leave the area, so Aakesh already knew it. He turned around and went to the gate of the palace.

He didn't enter the bottom floor but began to search for a pattern on the front wall.

It didn't take long for Aakesh to find it. The pattern was the same as the wall Aakesh had cracked open to enter the treasure area.

"Leaving so early?"

Aakesh was going to repeat what the diary told him, but his hands froze midair as a familiar voice rang in his ears.

Aakesh turned around and found Veera standing there. He had a smile on his face while he looked at Aakesh with curiosity.

"How do you know how to leave this place?" Veera asked as he stepped forward.

Aakesh didn't dare waste any time and rushed to tap the pattern. But before his fingers could touch it, he found himself becoming immobile.

Aakesh gritted his teeth and tried to force his way out, but he was unable to do so.

"Why do you fear me?" Veera asked as he also reached Aakesh.

Aakesh was already under mental duress due to what he had gone through in the illusion, so the fright from Veera further tensed him, taking away his ability to put two and two together.

The coin toss told him that there was danger, but it was solvable, but due to his tense situation, he wasn't able to think things through.

Veera finally reached Aakesh. His body size was smaller than Aakesh's, but the scene in front was weird.

Veera raised his hands to grab hold of Aakesh's face, but then suddenly, the immobility restricting Aakesh disappeared, and his hands tapped on the pattern.

Aakesh didn't even dare to look behind and a portal appeared and sucked him inside.

The next moment, Aakesh found himself back at the wall while his entire back was wet with sweat.

Aakesh could sense that Veera had malicious intentions this time, as the smile on his face had a hint of cruelty. Aakesh couldn't help but sit down on the ground, as that scene was more tiring for him than doing manual labor for days.

A few seconds later, Aakesh slightly calmed down. He first decided to leave this place and then think about the scenes.

"How dare you?" Veera growled as he turned around.

There stood the girl with the veil. Her eyes contained guilt, but there was also relief in them.

Veera lost his composure and charged at the girl. He grabbed her face and used his sharp nail to create a cut.

The girl couldn't help but groan in pain when suddenly Veera groaned in pain and was thrown back as if some invisible energy acted on him.

"Please, for---forgive m---me mas- ugh, master," Veera pleaded as he squirmed on the ground. The arrogance of earlier was nowhere to be seen.

"If you dare lay another finger on her or if your arrogance affects my plan, it will be the end of you!"

The next moment, a hoarse voice filled with cruelty rang in the area, chilling both Veera and the girl.

"This is your last warning!"

This time the warning was aimed at the girl, making her shudder. A hint of helplessness appeared on the girl's face as she thought of the identity of the man.

'I hope he will remember this favor,' The girl thought in her heart and entered the palace.

Veera was left alone on the ground in a pool of piss. His expression was like a vengeful wraith at that moment as the face of Aakesh flashed past his eyes.

***

Aakesh decided to log out of Panagea after reaching some distance from the wall. It was a real world, but until the merging, the rules for adventurers and NPCs were the same as any other game, so Aakesh didn't need to fear Veera much.

A/N: Comment, Comment, Comment!

I have a task for the readers. Aakesh would need skills to fight, so share the skills you could think of that would use coins to attack or defend. The better explained skills will be used in the book.
