The cavehole closed up, and what remains are half the number of monsters not swallowed up by the hole. The worms wiggling underneath are screaming in happiness after many delicacies dropped from the sky!
Such blessing!
They will surely savor the taste and preserve the food until the next hunt.
Thus, the first round ended.
The monsters who were shaken could not stand up straight and collapsed on the ground. Some even went hysterical and are fighting to climb the stairs towards the god's throne.
The god of the underworld, contrary to his expectation, found the game aggravating.
Where is the human?!
The game has already started and is proceeding to the next round. He can no longer intervene because of the condition he set up earlier. A BOSS like him can only intervene once. Exceed that, and he will procure punishment from the Dark Tower.
"Tsked." He shot a disdainful, arrogant glance at the crowd, seemingly sizing everyone up while searching for the human who disappeared under everyone's nose.
[The next round will start.]
Right after that announcement, the huge roulette began to spin by itself. The words that are written in huge, bold, red letters became blurry in everyone's eyes.
"Let's see if you can still hide with the next round in the game?" The god deliberately prolonged his tone and forced everyone to stop and look up at him.
At his words, everyone stared blankly.
"Surely you all remember what my conditions are for passing this game?"
The blockhead monsters widened their eyes in shock. Then they started to look around them in frantic.
"Where's the human?!"
"Where did that little pest go?!"
"Surely he did not fall into the hole?!"
As the huge arrow in the roulette pointed to the huge white grid with bold red letters, the god smiled in their direction and said,
"If the human fell, this game should have ended with everyone passing. Why is the next round still coming?"
His deliberate provocation was directed at Cayden, who is currently standing in the center of the crowd. Because of the cloak of Vulnar, he was able to blend in to the crowd.
It's not that he becomes invisible; it's just that his body composition can change depending on his environment.
When Cayden stomped that man with a long tongue's claws with his feet, he did not become invisible. The cloak he was wearing turned the same color as the black granite floor. And because of his swift movement and the poor lighting in the arena, nobody noticed him.
The same thing happened when he kicked the orc's leg. He was standing completely still on the side, waiting for the right time. The giant worm underneath noticed him, but because of the gemstone of Vladimir, it backed away in fear.
Cayden was pleased with the worm's obedience, so he sent the orc right to its hole and fed the worm.
The roulette above stopped spinning. The words [Acrobatics of Hell!] flashed like a game system warning in video games.
Now it's Cayden's time to tsk.
"Acrobatics?! What is that?!" A hairy guy with an ape's face asked loudly in the crowd.
One of his companions, another ape man, hit him in the nape. "What are you, dumb?! It's that nasty public performance where animals were forced to perform for human entertainment.
"Oh… wait what?! Are we about to perform for the humans now?! That's unacceptable! Outrageous! I will never bow down to humans!"
"Idiot, do you see any humans here?!"
-- I'm here behind you, stupid.
The two ape men started to argue among themselves. Cayden carefully distanced himself from the crowd. So as not to be swept away by the tide, but he dared not stray too far.
That god has been eyeing the arena with keen eyes. Scrutinizing every nook and crook for any suspicious movement.
-- Try to find me if you can bastard.
Cayden knew if he died right now, he was doing these monsters a favor. His death will be their victory.
…
So what is his victory, then?
How will he win?
Kill them all?
A strange, dull noise erupted from all corners of the arena. The ground slightly shook because of the grinding force. Everyone looked around in panic and saw the huge pillars slowly begin to split in half.
A thin black rope appeared at its split section and connected to the pillar across from it.
The quake did not stop right there since more pillars eventually emerged, completely isolating the arena from the outside world.
"What is that?!"
"What's going on?!"
The newly emerged pillars were extremely strange. A huge round metal ball appeared at the top, with a huge chain attaching it to the pillar.
The huge round metal ball began to drop toward the ground.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
A series of thuds accompanied by sudden tremors shook everyone.
Then the square granite floor began to move. Some sink lower while others shift to the left or to the right.
Those empty sections where the square granite floor sink formed a deep hole that transcend below. Everyone was too scared to get near them, so they stepped towards the square floor that was still moving.
The man with a pig snout got into a fight with the orc he shared the square floor with.
"I got here first! Go somewhere else!" The pig snout man said indignantly. The orc just glared at him.
"What?! Didn't you hear what I just said?!" The orc narrowed his eyes dangerously. He grabbed the pig snout man in the collar and lifted him off his feet.
"What are you doing?! Let me go!!!"
The orc did as the pig snout man said. He let him go.
And the pig snout man dropped into the chasm of the deep, dark hole.
"NOOO!!!"
As if on cue, a burst of liquefied lava exploded from the holes. It swallowed the pig snout man and continued to rise like a river filling up a cave.
The lava filled the holes and overflowed towards the surface.
