Luo Shuchang fell silent at Ryker's blunt questioning, clutching at his chest. His breath was coming in ragged gasps, but his gaze was still clear as he looked Ryker dead in the eyes.
"That's so very like you," he said, shaking his head and smiling in spite of himself, "But I'm afraid that just won't do."
He rushed forward, brandishing his sword while Ryker just clicked his tongue and stepped forward to meet him. Their weapons clashed again, blasting away the sand whirling around them with a fierce shockwave, and both of them bore down upon the other with sword and staff locked in between.
"Just tell me what's going on, dude!" Ryker said through clenched teeth, raising his voice over the sound of metal grinding on metal.
Although Luo Shuchang always liked to act mysterious and in control, Ryker felt a sense of desperation beneath his doppelganger's calm veneer whenever he saw his rash and over the top actions.
