Whipping Again?

Cole felt that his entire world had turned upside down as he stared at the body of a familiar female servant falling to the ground, lifeless. From what he could remember, the servant acted more like a mother to him than to Oliver. She treated him with respect and care—so much that she had never given to Oliver.

The poor child would be left alone in the cold nights, while the woman would accompany him all night, embarrassing him as a good mother.

Cole thought the servant merely did this because it was her duty back then. It never occurred to him that the woman did it because of her maternal instincts. So the only person who suffered in this entire ordeal was probably Oliver.

His body flashed out of the inner building of the palace before anyone could notice his presence. He went away and wandered around the garden, lost in thought.
