"Dad, I'm tired."

"I know Juna, but I have to carry your sister right now, I'm sorry."

"I wanna go home."

"We can't go home, it's not safe."

"How is this any better?"

I knew Juna had a point, she has always been smart for her age, but I couldn't let myself admit she was right. If we went back to The Circus, there would be a war eventually. Maybe I'm being selfish, hell, I know I am, but I can't be there when that happens. I can't take another tragedy, but I know this is a bad choice. I know something's going to go wrong but I can't turn back, I'm just not ready.

We couldn't stop, the dead were on our tail, we couldn't lose them. Juna and I hadn't slept in days, she was barely holding on, but if we stopped, we'd die. I can't let that happen.

I know leaving The Circus wasn't the answer, but I can't let my children be near that man. I didn't know if I could trust Ethan either because if I could, he wouldn't have let us leave and Timothy would be dead.

We got to a city, I didn't know the name of it. The dead were sparse besides the herd that had been following us. We needed a break, it was the only way we would survive. I didn't really have a plan, I didn't know if I'd ever go back but this would have to be enough for now. Four walls and a roof, and empty shelves galore.
