Yuuji took the stage as if he owned the place. It felt as though he showed everyone a needle and a thread, and his voice was that missing piece for it all to take shape. Something that would sew their wounds shut. He was at home in this crowd, for they celebrated together.
Kazue turned off the TV.
Then, handed her mother the medicine. The mansion nestled in the middle of Tokyo. Tall glass windows gave view into a massive garden. It embraced the flora around it, offering those inside a chance to relax and enjoy the change in seasons. But, it also had an absurd amount of unused space, which Kazue wasn’t really fond of.
- “Ehh?! Why did you turn it off? Yu-kun looked so handsome!”
- “Rest, mom.”
- “I’m fine. Let me watch.”
The mother reached for the remote, but Kazue kept it further away. With her wounded leg, the mom couldn’t fight back. She just sat on the sofa with the cast and let her leg sit on a soft pillow.
- “Why don’t you let dad come over?”
