Particles of dust shimmered in the glow of the blitz, hovering in the still air.

They had found a shelled out building to hide in. Judging by the furniture and decoration on the inside, it was probably supposed to be an office building of some sort. It had only been partially damaged. A bomb had struck the center and blasted a hole in the floor, but had never actually detonated. It simply remained in its shell at the foundation of the building. A massive hole had been punctured through the roof, revealing the hazy red sky beyond. Now there was a live explosive, sitting in the midst of it's own destruction. Nobody could say if —or WHEN— it would go off.
