Hazel was walking again. Since her attempt at reconnecting with her parents didn't go very well, she figured she might as well find something else to do. So by putting one foot in front of the other, she continued blazing her own trails in hopes that they would actually lead somewhere. This was the first time she had ever really tried to do anything without following the directions of others. It was the first time she had properly wandered.
But she wasn't used to wandering. She wasn't used to being on her own. And after a few more blocks of determined stomping, she found herself standing outside another familiar place: Jericho United Church.
