[10] Bentley's Gamble

Nobody was quite sure what words they were expecting to come out of Bentley's mouth. Perhaps a plea for mercy? A bargain for peace? These were the typical words of those who stood in defense when facing a large threat. However, none of them were expecting Bentley's honest and genuine look of concern, nor the low and serious tone of her voice. It was as though she was ACTUALLY warning them of something instead of just playing around. It actually startled a few of the angels in the crowd.

"You see," Bentley continued. "Hell's known about your invasion plan for a while now. And they've been preparing this entire time. I'm saying this now because if you try to follow through with what you're doing, you will end up getting yourselves killed,"

Although there were a few pairs of frightened eyes amidst the crowd, most of the angels on the cliffside were still deciding whether or not to take the bait. In the end, they weren't given a chance before Camael swooped in.
